Part 1 Planning the audio
To decide on the audio portion of the video you will need to obtain information from someone involved in the story.
  • Write a list of questions you would like to have answered. (Who can answer the questions?)
  • Copy and paste your questions' document into the correct turn-in folder. (One or more participants will be asked the questions we choose for the story.)
  • Write a block format personal business letter to the person who you need to interview. In the letter include the following:
    • Request for an interview during this class hour (1st paragraph)
    • Reason for the interview (1st paragraph)
    • When you want the interview - week of November 27th (1st paragraph)
    • Questions you plan to ask (2nd paragraph)- Look in the Turn In folder for sample questions. Remember you want to ask W and H questions that will give you the information you will need to write the story. That would be a minimum of 6 questions.
    • A thank you to the person (3rd paragraph)
  • Turn your letter in to the appropriate folder
  • Two students will be selected conduct each interview

Part 2 Creating and filming a script
Use the responses from the questions, and the pictures to help you write a script and film it. This will be a film of you acting the part of  a newscaster or reporter.
  • Use the pictures and the answers from the questions submitted to write your script. This will be similar to a script a newscaster would have.
  • Partner with someone and have him/her film you performing your script.
  • Upload your film to the computer. Film should be on the Video 1 track.
  • Import 1-4 clips from the taped interview (approximately 5-10 seconds each)

  • Trim your film as needed for excellent audio.
  • Import pictures.
  • Arrange pictures with correct audio portion. Pictures should be on Track 2.
Your recorded video should be on Track 1.
  • Add transitions to pictures and video to create a visually appealing film.
