Stucky Hosts International Visitors
Chinese educators visited Stucky for a look at American secondary education. Stucky was one of three schools and the only middle school the delegation chose to visit. Mr. Davis took them on a tour of our school, where they were able to observe classes in action and speak to our students. The visit was sponsord by the Friendship Force of Kansas, a group that promotes international understanding by sponsoring visits that encourage people-to-people diplomacy. The secondary educators from various regions of China wanted to see what our schools are like, how our classes are conducted, and how our students learn throughout the school day. The Chinese teachers also visited Los Angeles and New York City, but chose to only tour schools in Wichita.
Earlier this month, Stucky also hosted the Kansas superintendents meeting. Superintendents throughout the state met to discuss educational issues. Before the meeting, Stucky volleyball team members escorted the superintendents on a tour of our building.
Retired teachers also toured the building and met with Superintendent Brooks. The volley ball team members did an excellent job showing off our school and answering questions.
